At the end of 2019, I joined the 4th Leg of eXXpedition round the world awareness trip, between Antigua and Aruba, via Bonaire. I was a crew on the all-women sailing boat and crossed the Caribbean Sea to collect evidence about the presence of plastics.

eXXpedition round the world 2019-2021 is an all-female sailing voyage and scientific research mission. Over 38,000 nautical miles and 30 voyage legs starting and ending in the United Kingdom, eXXpedition crews explore plastics and toxics as part of a global scientific programme in our oceans, via four of the five oceanic gyres and the arctic.

In the private dining room at the Almanack, I will be sharing my voyage experiences and talk about the sailing, the science and the women on board. I look forward to seeing you there, for an interactive session supplemented with footage from my sailing voyage.

You can get drinks from the bar as you make your way to the back of the Almanack. I will be there from 7pm, with the talk starting at about 8pm. Hopefully we will enjoy a few drinks together afterwards!
